For the last month, the co-founders of Voice123 and VoiceBunny, Alex Torrenegra and Tania Zapata, were planning a business trip to Japan. We took this as an opportunity to organize a Voice123 Meetup in Tokyo to hear about the voice over life of voice talent in Japan’s market. The first official Tokyo Voice123 Meetup at the Park Hyatt Tokyo Hotel, held in the Peak Bar, was a success!
We had visitors who took the bullet train almost 2 hours to attend (special thanks to Miho Noguchi ).
We also had celebrity voice talent from Japan attend such as Yuki Rhinehart, including a senior producer from NHK.
It was very special to also meet voice talent we are familiar with through forums and emails over the past few years face to face, and find out what life is like in the voice industry.
We also discovered the issues presented with running a business in New York City, while the host city is 13 hours ahead. It changed some of the schedules for staff here in NYC to a night shift for a few days. 🙂
Our favorite part about this was emailing the hundreds of voice talent in Japan, and sending emails back and forth to find out the best places to eat, Meetup, and those special things everyone should know before visiting.
Special thanks to all of the voice talent from Voice123 located in Japan, who helped make this a success and we hope to be in touch with you again soon!
Tell us about it! We would love to write about you and your voice over life in your community or country!
